Huawei launched a solution to download Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp on phones without Google services AppSearch allows you to find applications that are not yet in AppGallery . Of course, the lack of Google mobile services (GMS) still hurts.

Following U.S. sanctions, Huawei has had to create its own app repository, AppGallery , after being banned from working with Google services like Google Play on key phones like the Mate 30 Pro . Huawei assured in February that it has managed 400 million active users to use AppGallery . It has also managed to team up with other major players in China such as Xiaomi , Oppo and Vivo to develop an alternative developer system . But there are still several gaps.

The truth is that many applications have not yet landed on the AppGallery and Huawei has created a way for users of the P40 Lite to find them. The app is called AppSearch and it was revealed on the German site Huawei Blog.

AppSearch allows you to search for applications. If they can be used without Google’s mobile services, it redirects you to download it even in other repositories outside of AppGallery .

In the event that it cannot be used without Google services , such as YouTube , AppSearch will redirect you to the web version, which has the limitations of not being an app optimized for mobile devices. This solution, temporary insurance while AppGallery continues to increase its catalog, has limitations. There are no automatic updates and Huawei cannot check the security of apps offered in third party repositories.
