The fashion for folding devices smoothly migrated from 2019 to 2020. And this year there will be not only new smartphones with a folding screen, like the Samsung Galaxy Fold or Huawei Mate X, but even laptops. The first of these devices was the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold.
At CES 2020, Lenovo showed off the world’s first fully featured foldable X1 Fold laptop with a flexible OLED screen. At the event, Lenovo revealed the price of the device, unique features, information about the operating system, but did not disclose the technical characteristics. The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold is a 13.3-inch laptop or foldable tablet. Given the name, the X1 Fold can range from a completely flat tablet, to a mini-laptop, depending on the position of the enclosed case. The X1 Fold comes with its own stylus for tak
ing notes, drawing or even full digital art.
.@Lenovo just announced its first foldable laptop and I am actually digging it? Foldables are a weird category but make sense in this space IMO.

Some uses for a foldable display include, for example, viewing a lecture on one part of the screen, while taking notes on the other. You can slightly fold the device to read several chapters of your favorite novel, like a traditional book. For business, the video call feature at the top will be convenient with parallel presentation demonstrations at the bottom of the screen.X1 will come out with optional connection to 5G networks and the full version of Windows 10 – thanks to the latest Lenovo calls its gadget “a fully functional computer with a folding OLED display.” Support for Windows 10X is likely to come later, to realize all the features of folding devices.
The X1 Fold case is made of carbon fiber, “light alloys” and a leather case, which should make the gadget pretty strong. The device is not yet available for pre-order, but the price has already been announced – $ 2,499.
